47 Soul present at Festa do Avante! “Shamstep”, the language the Palestinian-Jordanian band created from dabke and influences such as hip-hop, reggae and synthesizers. Formed in Jordan in 2013 and based between London and Palestine, the collective sings in Arabic and English, bringing together traditional rhythms and urban beats. The performance also takes on symbolic weight, through its openly claimed connection to Palestinian identity and to the context experienced in Palestine and the Gaza Strip.
