ANNEA LOCKWOOD

The Serralves Foundation and Porto Pianofest present «Piano Garden», by Annea Lockwood, as an extension of the festival beyond the usual format of concerts and recitals. Included in the «Piano Transplants» series, the 1969-1970 work starts from the piano as a sound body in transformation, also evoking Christiaan Barnard’s heart transplants in 1967. At the opening, on 9 August, there will be a brief moment of sonic exploration of the pianos and a Verde de Honra.
