Café Curto 2026
about the event
Café Curto returns in 2026 to the Café Concerto at Convento São Francisco with an expanded programme, designed for Tuesdays between January and June and between September and December, with a break in July and August. The cycle also marks the 10th anniversary of this cultural venue and strengthens its role in presenting emerging proposals, in articulation with new curatorial axes and with a closer connection to the local and national artistic community.
Curated by Blue House, co-produced by Convento São Francisco and funded by the Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, the project continues to focus on experimentation and on bringing together different musical practices. In 2026, a highlight is the partnership with Festival Emergente, which brings five dates selected through a national open call, and the in-depth work with the Professional Jazz Course of EACMC, through artistic residencies with public presentation. MIC will also become part of an intensive mentoring programme with training entities in the city.
Throughout the year, Café Curto brings together more than forty sessions and intersects with other moments in Coimbra's cultural life, establishing itself as a regular space for discovery, collaboration, and live performance.
The programme opens on 13 January with Joana Guerra and Miguel Gouveia, continues with Marta Lima on 20 January, JP Simões and Pedro Renato on 27 January, Puçanga on 3 February, Sophia Djebel Rose on 10 February, Jhon Douglas on 17 February, Afonso Cabral and CAIO on 24 February, and CPJAZZ on 3 March.
