Art Studies Cycle | Painter Pedro Nunes (1586-1637) and the Conservation and Restoration Intervention on the painting Adoração dos Magos

In this session of the Art Studies Cycle, the Museu Nacional Frei Manuel do Cenáculo focuses on Pedro Nunes (1586-1637), a painter from Évora active in the first decades of the 17th century and author of works linked to the altarpiece of the Church of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. Vítor Serrão presents this Counter-Reformation artist, who has since been rehabilitated by historiography. Margarida Filipe also discusses the conservation and restoration intervention on the painting «Adoração dos Magos», carried out as part of a curricular internship in the Master’s in Conservation and Restoration at the MNFMC.
