Cinema "Dois Procuradores"

At Cine-Teatro Garrett, «Two Prosecutors» is screened, a historical drama set in the Soviet Union in 1937, amid the great wave of Stalinist purges. The story follows Alexander Kornev, a young prosecutor who, upon receiving the letter of a political prisoner pursued by the NKVD, decides to investigate corruption within the system. Based on the novel by Georgy Demidov, the film is directed by Sergei Loznitsa and was presented in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. The cast includes Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Aleksandr Filippenko, Anatoliy Beliy, Andris Keišs and Vytautas Kaniušonis.
