St James Day Commemorations

The St James Day Commemorations return to Palmela between 25 July and 23 August, with activities that highlight the municipality’s historical connection to the Order of Santiago and the Caminos de Santiago. The programme opens with the inauguration of two exhibitions, on view until 23 August: «Bom Caminho! Aguarelas de Madureira Pais» and a display of Santiago imagery from Arlindo Parra’s private collection. On 1 August, at 16:00, there will also be a guided visit to the Palmela Inn, in the former Convent of the Knights-Freires of the Order of Santiago.
