Mariana Castello-Branco and Tiago Mileu Concert

The inaugural concert of the 2nd edition of Barcelos Fest Ensemble presents a program centered on the Marian theme, bringing together some of the most emblematic compositions inspired by the prayer Ave Maria, in a musical journey that spans different eras and aesthetic languages.

Soprano Mariana Castello-Branco will be accompanied on the piano by Tiago Mileu. The recital includes works by Bach, Schubert, Liszt, Verdi and Mascagni, as well as Portuguese composers and contemporary creation, with the world premiere of two works by António Correia. There will also be brief historical and musicological notes by Miguel Leite.
