Peace Conference | MAYORS FOR PEACE and INTERNATIONAL YOUTH

The Peace Conference brings together in Évora the opening of the International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future, the inauguration of a Peace Garden and a conversation session dedicated to the theme of peace. The initiative is part of the city’s work as a member of the Mayors for Peace network, which it has belonged to since 2007 and has coordinated in Portugal as lead city since 2022.

The programme also includes a musical moment with young musicians from the Banda da Casa do Povo de Nossa Senhora de Machede at the inauguration of the Peace Garden. Later, the session “Conversa sobre a Paz com…” takes place, in English, with Carlos Zorrinho, Tsutomu Nakagawa and José Manuel Rosendo, moderated by Victor Ângelo. The event is organized by the Câmara Municipal de Évora together with The City of Hiroshima.
