Open Day at the Santo André Museum Ship
Part ofDia Aberto no Centro de Religiosidade Marítimaabout the event
On the second Sunday of each month, the Santo André Museum Ship takes part in the Open Day of the Ílhavo Maritime Museum and offers free visits to its museum route. The experience takes the public aboard a ship that evokes the fishing campaign in the North Atlantic and complements the reading of Faina Maior, dedicated to line fishing for cod, presented in the museum’s main building.
The visit can be made by following the suggested layout of the ship, distributed across three main sections: the Bow, the Stern and the upper decks. Among the spaces mentioned are the Windlass, the Fishing Area, the Holds, the Net Store, the Bow Crew Quarters, the Wheelhouse, the Engine Room, the Galley, the Officers’ Cabin, the Bridge, the TSF and the poop deck.
