about the event

Emilio Moret's voice and musical writing reflect the son tradition, bolero and other popular sounds that are part of the collective memory of Cuba. Born in 1948 in Encrucijada, he trained in Havana and built his own language from life in the streets and contact with masters of Cuban music.

A member of the historic Septeto Habanero, among other son cubano groups, he later began a solo career in Lisbon, the city he chose to live in after turning 70. He also maintains a close relationship with the music of Portugal and Cabo Verde. The concert accompanies a special moment in his career, after the recording, in Havana, of the new album "Alma de Sonero", entirely written by him.
