Evita

Evita is presented as one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best-known musicals, with music, and Tim Rice, with lyrics. In an opera-rock format, the work follows the trajectory of Eva Duarte, later Eva Perón, from her origins in the Argentine countryside to life in Buenos Aires, where she seeks fame and fortune.

The narrative follows her rise alongside Juan Perón, a military officer and rising politician, and shows how Eva becomes one of the figures most adored by the people, associated with hope and social progress, but also the target of criticism, suspicions of political manipulation, and accusations of a thirst for power. The show thus focuses on the public and controversial dimension of one of Argentina’s most striking personalities of the 20th century.
