Onion Fair

Between 15 and 22 August, the Onion Fair returns to Praça do Comércio with a programme focused on showcasing the traditional and ethnofolkloric culture of the region and the country.

Organised by the Associação Grupo Folclórico “Os Camponeses da Vila Nova”, with the support of Câmara Municipal de Coimbra and União de Freguesias de Coimbra, the initiative brings together the presence of the ceboleiros of Cernache, several “Folk Nights” and “Entertainment Nights”, performances by concertina groups, a re-enactment and typical Portuguese gastronomy.

19 August is dedicated to the village of Cernache, with entertainment provided by local associations.
