Inopinado

The second edition of Inopinado proposes two weeks dedicated to physical theatre and street arts, bringing together performances, training, artistic creation and encounters between national and international artists. Organised by O Elefante na Sala Associação, in partnership with the Escuela Internacional de Teatro Arturo Bernal, MUEVE – Festival Internacional de Teatro Físico de Madrid and the association Moviendo Teatro, the festival is supported by Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, with a grant of three thousand euros.

The programme begins on 5 September with “Instituto de Longas Conversas sobre o Nada”, a conference by Sónia Barbosa, Nuno Nunes and Estrutura Baldia, inspired by the Pataphysics of Alfred Jarry and dedicated to reflecting on artistic creation processes. From 11 to 13 September, Alejandro Moya leads a Teatro-Dança training course; on 12 September, the company Wip presents “The New Man – Work in Progress”.

The programme also includes the “El drama” Physical Theatre workshop, led by Arturo Bernal from 14 to 18 September, and a Street Theatre masterclass, also led by Arturo Bernal, on 19 and 20 September. The festival closes on 20 September with “A Festa do INOPINADO”, a travelling street procession bringing together performances and artistic acts, directed by Arturo Bernal and Hugo Inácio, with the special participation of TEUC – Teatro dos Estudantes da Universidade de Coimbra, musicians and artists from the city. The route ends with a final performance for the whole family.
