JP Simões brings a tribute to José Mário Branco to Festa!, based on the album released by Omnichord Records in 2024, in the year of the 50th anniversary of 25 April. It is the musician’s first recording devoted solely to other people’s compositions and the starting point for a concert that has toured the country.
On stage, JP Simões is accompanied by Nuno Ferreira on guitar and vocals, Pedro Pinto on double bass, Ruca Rebordão on percussion, and Márcio Pinto on marimba and electronics, in an interpretation that highlights the poetic, ethical, and civic dimension of José Mário Branco’s songs.
