On this New Moon, we welcome Carla Andrade and Joana Patrão for a session that thematically connects with the chapter Telúricas of the National Selection programme, developed in partnership with Cineteca Madrid. Carla Andrade, an artist devoted to photography and moving image, studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Salamanca and completed a master's degree in Artists' Film & Moving Image at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is currently pursuing studies in Philosophy. Her artistic practice explores landscape, nature and the limits of perception. Joana Patrão's practice — a graduate in Fine Arts and with a master's degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto — focuses on the study of landscape, understood simultaneously as a symptom of conflict and a potential process of rediscovery. Her work explores the elemental nature of organic matter and the different interactions between body and time (geological-biological-technological).

At Batalha, we present a selection of the artists' work, proposing a meeting between two practices that dialogue around a telluric sensibility and materiality.
