about the event
*Agora baixou o sol* begins with a popular song from northwestern Portugal, traditionally sung at the end of the workday, and turns that memory into a choreographic solo by Luísa Saraiva.
The piece brings together voice, movement and sound to explore vulnerability, loss, time and aging, drawing on calls, interjections and imitative sounds associated with labor and life alongside animals. The creation proposes dance as a space of belonging, resistance, regeneration and pleasure.
