Marisol

The exhibition "Marisol – When Things are Just Beginning" presents the first retrospective dedicated to the drawings of Marisol Escobar, bringing together more than 100 works made from the 1950s until her death. The exhibition combines drawings, sculptures that extend this practice into three dimensions, archival materials and several films by Andy Warhol in which the artist took part. Coming almost entirely from the Buffalo AKG Art Museum collection, the show highlights drawing as the axis of Marisol’s work and recalls Leo Castelli’s phrase that gives the project its title, around a career marked by decisive withdrawals from the art world.
