Masks of the Soul – Between the Sacred and the Profane

The exhibition Masks of the Soul – Between the Sacred and the Profane brings together a series of masks by Rui Santos, also known as *Gady*, on a visual journey between tradition and identity, faith and superstition, collective memory and individual experience.

The show draws inspiration from the people, customs and cultural heritage of Trás-os-Montes, proposing a symbolic universe in which painting acts as a meeting point between the sacred and the profane.
