MEDEIA MATERIAL

In MEDEIA MATERIAL, the creation of HIPÉRION Projeto Teatral revisits the myth of Medea through the writing of Heiner Müller, who worked on this figure for more than thirty years. The performance returns to the tension between love, betrayal, and violence, in a reflection on the passage from myth to history and on forms of domination that still resonate in the present.

The dramaturgy and staging are by Mário Trigo with Jaime Rocha, with performances by Cirila Bossuet, Miguel Coutinho, and Philippe Araújo. The production also features set design by Pedro Silva, lighting design by Mário Trigo, and costumes by Catarina Graça, in partnership with Teatro da Rainha.
