Bookstore of Books

Casa da Escrita hosts Mercearia dos Livros, an initiative by Coimbra City-Break with the support of Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, bringing together a showcase and sale of second-hand books with several activities for the public. The idea is to give new life to volumes forgotten on shelves, encouraging the circulation of books, creativity, and intergenerational sharing.

Over the two days, the accompanying program includes paper reuse workshops with Simplifica Atelier, a cut-paper workshop led by Ayano Shinzato, and the workshop "Bordar e Saborear o Arroz-Doce", promoted by Coimbra City-Break. Also included is the creative workshop "Hortelão de Palavras", the weaving showcase of Almalaguês led by Associação Herança do Passado, reading sessions in the late afternoon, and musical notes throughout the initiative.

The parallel activities have limited capacity and require prior registration. Admission to Mercearia dos Livros is free, with only some workshops requiring a paid participation fee.
