about the event
«Nós, Sozinhas» starts from a verse by Maria Teresa Horta to build a monologue by Sara Barros Leitão around the decriminalization of the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy in Portugal and what has changed since then. The play looks at the path taken by civil society, the victory achieved by referendum and the possibility that the right to abortion may remain under threat.
On stage, the actress, playwright and director prompts a reflection on the female body as a recurring site of dispute whenever repression gains ground, bringing together politics, memory and contemporary urgency. The show premieres at Theatro Circo and is part of the co-production of several cultural institutions, including 23 milhas, Cineteatro Louletano, Cineteatro de Pombal, Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, Teatro Municipal de Matosinhos Constantino Nery, Teatro Viriato and Theatro Circo.
The 20th session includes audio description.
