about the event

The documentary *O Menino d’Olho d’Água* (2024), directed by Carolina Sá and Lírio Ferreira, draws an intimate portrait of Hermeto Pascoal, a Brazilian musician whose work is born from listening to the natural world and everyday life. The film returns to his childhood in Lagoa da Canoa, in Alagoas, and to the way his albinism shaped his path, turning isolation into creative material. Between biography and visual sensitivity, the screening celebrates the identity of Brazil’s Northeast and the singularity of a music made of imagination, nature, and freedom.
