The Theatre Goes to the Street

about the event

The Theatre Goes to the Street presents itself as an exhibition that invites us to look at the city as spectacle and as an archive of everyday life, through its graphic memory: neon signs, advertisements, murals, inscriptions and graffiti. The reading and mediation of this material is carried out by the collective Tipos de Coimbra, dedicated to the recovery and preservation of lettering.

The exhibition brings together illustrations and maps associated with the Arredores cycle, conceived and produced by Ricardo Falcão, with illustrations by Teresa Tellechea, as well as other mediated routes through the city, including those that formed part of the Atlas Gráfico de Coimbra. Together, the works propose a rediscovery of urban space and its visual layers, crossing walking, mapping and imagining place.
