about the event
In *NACIONALISMO*, Odete examines the construction of the idea of nation in Portugal, from 1143 to the Estado Novo, with a critical approach focused on those who were left out of the dominant narrative.
On stage, two transgender performers embody stories and positions that open up space to think about belonging, expulsion and coexistence. The creation takes place at TBA - Teatro Bairro Alto and is presented as a 75-minute performance, without interval.
The session includes accessibility in Portuguese, English and Arabic, with subtitles in English and Arabic. On 12 September, there will also be Portuguese Sign Language interpretation and audio description, with stage recognition at 6:30 pm.
