At Teatro Stephens in Marinha Grande, the performance “Onde Estavas Quando Leste o Primeiro Jornal” draws on Cristóvão Cunha’s archive of old magazines and newspapers, preserved since 1995, and on testimonies from several journalists to revisit the collective memory of journalism. The creation connects that past with current issues such as fake news, the role of the media in a democratic society, and access to information as individual freedom. The public is also invited to contribute old newspapers to enrich the project.
