Os Miseráveis: the story of Jean Valjean

In 1815, in Provence, France, Jean Valjean leaves prison after nineteen years of forced labour. Forever marked by the documents identifying him as a criminal, he is rejected when he seeks shelter in the village of Digne, until he is welcomed by Monseigneur Bienvenu, who lives with his sister and a maid. On that decisive night, Jean faces a choice capable of defining his destiny.

Inspired by the work of Victor Hugo, Éric Besnard’s film stars Grégory Gadebois, alongside Bernard Campan, Isabelle Carré, Alexandra Lamy, Loup Cousteil, Dominique Pinon, Albert Dupontel, Romane Libert, Patrick Pineau, Ernest Mourier and Claire Ruppli. It has a running time of 1h23 and combines drama and history.
