about the event
The ground-floor exhibition of Museu de Lisboa - Palácio Pimenta reveals the evolution of Lisbon, a city that grew facing the Tagus River, from the Paleolithic, more than one hundred thousand years ago, when the first inhabitants arrived in this territory, to the splendor the city reached during the reign of D. João V (r. 1706 - 1750).
This is the first part of the new long-term exhibition, which will soon continue on the 1st floor, currently being renovated, where the history of Lisbon from the 18th century to the end of the 20th century will be traced.
Through more than 500 pieces, more than 200 of them new in relation to the previous exhibition, the new exhibition is an invitation to a Journey into the interior of the city, revealing the evolution of Lisbon.
