September Programme at Centro de Arte Contemporânea

During September, Centro de Arte Contemporânea presents a range of opportunities for participation and engagement around contemporary art. Until 11 September, the Oficinas de Verão invite visitors to explore movement, collage, construction through layers, and the dialogue between geometry and gesture, with references to Vanessa Beecroft, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, António Palolo and Carlos Correia. Sessions take place from Tuesday to Friday, between 10:00 and 17:00, for ATL and the general public, with organised groups required to book in advance.

On 12 September, the exhibition “Pares e Ímpares I” marks its closing with a guided visit by curator Nuno Faria and some of the artists represented. The exhibition and the educational kits “Vocação”, “Concordância” and “Ponto e linha” remain available until 20 September.

Between 18 and 27 September, the centre joins the Jornadas Europeias do Património, under the theme “Reviver, resistir, reinventar”, with free admission from 18 to 20 September. From 23 to 30 September, the Programa de Portas Amplamente Fechadas offers new workshops on drawing and movement, creating marks and lines, and the behind-the-scenes work of curating and installing exhibitions. These activities take place from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 17:00, and require prior registration; individual registrations are not accepted.
