These photographs stage stories connected to the neighbourhood and to Portugal. Against a blue background that evokes the colours of the tiles, a rain of carnations—the symbol of the Revolution—falls; milk bottles appear, recalling the time when milk was rationed; stories are told of talking parrots and crickets given to children as gifts; and, at a time when the housing issue is becoming urgent, piles of bricks rise up, like those once fired in the area's kiln to build the neighbourhood's apartment blocks.
