Bashar Murkus & Khulood Basel / Khashabi Theatre السّيرة الهلاليّة [A Epopeia de Banī Hilāl]

The play follows the migration of the Bani Hilal tribe from the Arabian Peninsula to Tunisia and focuses on the trajectory of Abu Zaid al-Hilali. The performance blends songs, music, dance, shadow theatre and puppetry, in an approach that reinterprets this tradition through old documentation, publications and rare recordings.

The artistic construction also stems from the dialogue between Palestinian folk tradition and authentic Arab performance styles, creating a register that connects memory, epic narrative and traditional scenic forms.
