Né Barros / Shadow Zones

The performance traverses shadows and is traversed by them. The polysemy of the term opens up a field of exploration into different references, whether psychological or metaphysical. But, like seismology, in which a given terrestrial surface does not receive seismic waves directly, the shadow summons presence indirectly, casting us into the side of invisibility. Throughout the piece, bodies are shadows and cast shadows. More than revealing, they conceal deep meanings. Movement, word, and music come together to build a sensitive place of passage for images by subtraction or by exposure. The performance as a cinematic projection of images of the world and of bodies as traces of light and darkness. — Né Barros
