about the event
In *HÉRITAGE*, Cédric Eeckhout stages an intimate dialogue between mother and son. She was a hairdresser, raised four children, later retired and became an actress; he is an actor and embraces a queer identity from which he questions inheritance, masculinity and machismo.
Through a sharing made of emotion, humor and fragility, the performance observes what is passed from one generation to the next in a time marked by climate, pandemic, political and social crises. At the same time, it exposes persistent forms of racism and sexism and looks at the fissures of a world still shaped by colonial and patriarchal traditions.
From this confrontation between personal memories and collective tensions comes the possibility of other voices, other relationships and the hope of a different future.
