Where to Land

In *Onde Aterrar*, Hal Hartley follows Joseph Fulton, a retired filmmaker looking for a quieter life who agrees to work as a gardener’s assistant in a cemetery while preparing his will. What begins as a discreet attempt to organize the future triggers a family misunderstanding: his relatives, friends, and neighbors think he is dying and gather for a farewell marked by awkward conversations about the meaning of life. The 2025 film stars Bill Sage, Kim Taff, Katelyn Sparks, and Robert John Burke, and was presented in the Official Competition of LEFFEST – Lisboa Film Festival, where it won the NOS Grand Prize.
