RAMOT - António da Costa Cabral

RAMOT – António da Costa Cabral begins its tour in Tomar, in an adaptation of the exhibition originally presented at Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa – Fotográfico. In Tomar, the project is spread across two complementary sections, at CEFT – Casa dos Cubos and at Convento de Cristo, in dialogue with two spaces of great heritage and symbolic relevance.

The exhibition brings together the work and memory of António da Costa Cabral with the connection that the photographer maintained with Tomar, where he lived part of his childhood at Convento de Cristo. The curators are Paula Figueiredo and Sofia Castro, and the opening includes the public presentation of the catalogue, conceived as support for reading the collection and the historical, cultural and artistic contexts associated with it.

The project results from the work developed by the Municipal Archive of Lisbon from the donation, in 2018, of the archive of António Bernardo da Costa Cabral, and also stands as an initiative of cooperation between Lisbon and Tomar. The exhibition is on view until 18 October 2026.
