“Um Conto Japonês” is a show for all childhoods inspired by the tale “A Árvore”, by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, which in turn was inspired by an old Japanese tale. A nesting doll of tales that passes through our hands to reach your senses.
“Um Conto Japonês” tells the story of a sacred tree for the inhabitants of a small island in Japan and of its people’s relationship with nature, with tradition, and with the legacy of their ancestors. It also speaks about the impermanence of life and how everything transforms into everything else, so that what now disappears may nourish what is yet to be born.
