Viva João César Monteiro

The TAGV dedicates this cycle to the work of João César Monteiro, with digital copies restored by Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museu do Cinema. The programme goes through landmark titles by the director, from the first encounter with Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen to the works with the alter ego João de Deus, including works such as *Silvestre*, *Recordações da Casa Amarela*, *A Comédia de Deus* and *Vai e Vem*. The initiative also highlights the filmmaker's international dimension and the way his work continues to be seen, revisited and studied.
